| Before, the
Mediterranean Sea carried more trade than any other body of water, and
next it was the North Sea, and then the Atlantic. More recently then the
Indian Ocean, made England (with help of the US ) win WWI, when the era
of the Pacific arrived, with today, both the United States and China major
frontages on this ocean today.

In the Western
imagination, China's history has been inextricably linked to the notion
of "empire." But in fact, more than a millennium of Chinese history passed
before anything resembling an empire ever existed. The
